The British Superbikes return to Brand Hatch this weekend for the second time this season, since the opening round in April. Practice has already begun with qualifying starting Saturday through to the main event on Sunday.
The latest team news sees Josh Brookes return to the Championship after a recent test spell in Japan and has his sights set on closing the gap on the championship lead. Brookes currently stands in second place in the riders championship 79 points behind the leader Shane Byrne.
Brookes beat Byrne in the closest race finish of the season so far at Oulton Park in May and now the Australian is ready to repeat his winning performance on the Grand Prix circuit - where he took the triple race win last October, to score four of the last five wins on the 2.4-mile layout. The Milwaukee Yamaha rider admits that he needs to come back stronger in Kent after missing out on the podium twice at Knockhill, with a pair of fourth places, but is feeling revitalised after a recent test in Japan ahead of the Suzuka Eight Hour Race.
The fifth round of the championship will see riders battling it out over the Brands Hatch GP circuit, having previously raced the Indy route.
The GP circuit comprises of nine corners with two long straights allowing the riders to hit extremely high speeds encompassed with some sweeping bends and a tight hairpin this weekend is certain to make for exciting viewing.
WP Racing is ready to provide all the teams with their high performance racing fuel to get the action started. You can catch all the live raceday action on British Eurosport 2 on Sunday the 20th July from 12:30.
